Lately, the desktop shortcut icons that have been accompanying program updates are not being allowed to enter my taskbar. Every time I try to drag them into the TB, they are accompanied by the x'ed circle. I do know that the "older" icons in the TB that I want to replace, will call up the updated programs, but some times the 'New" icons are different and I just want to keep up with the times.
EDIT: Found answer here: windows 11 desktop shortcut icons taskbar - Google Search. Open program>right click icon on desktop>select Pin to TB.
