Hello, i'm new here.

You know this feature, where you can hover over the maximize-button from windows and then it pops-up these 6 different snap-layouts ?

I really want to make it appear faster (like more or less instant). I even tried to completly disable animation, but it has no effect on that feature. I tried to use google, but when i search for sth with animation time, i find only other things and when i search for the snap-layout i find only disable/enable.

But i want to speed up the "pop-up" showing.

Can someone help me ? Is this possible? I mean anyhow: I prefer registry-hacks, but if not possible, i'm open for software (but i don't search softwares like powertoys, i just want to have it showing up faster).

Btw: I know i can drag the whole window in the middle-top area of the monitor for the same snap-layout, but that's not what i search for.

Hi @platos , yes I know the feature. It is called Snap Layouts in Windows 11. Like you say, you can turn this feature ON/OFF, however, there appears to be no setting (registry or otherwise) to adjust the performance of the feature.

Instead, the performance could depend on things like the hardware of your computer (CPU, RAM, graphics), how many background programs are running and how many open windows you have opened on the desktop. It might be worth investigating these to find a solution to your issue.

Another thing you could try is adjust the windows visual effects to improve performance. You can switch ON/OFF the Windows transparency effects and the Windows animation effects. Switching off either of these may well improve the performance of the Snap Layout feature. The windows visual effects can be found in Settings > Accessibility > Visual Effects. You may find those settings useful.
