Show us your 20 dollar bill

Just being curious about currency and how different it looks around the world. It may not be call a 20 dollar bill in your country but equivalent. I googled a 20 dollar bill in images and this is a Canadian 20 dollar Bill. What dose your look like?

Ours has changed so often I wouldn’t know what to show you. On one side was usually the Queen (soon to be King no doubt) and on the other side, it changes regularly and has a new inspirational famous figure from the past, deceased. Often, well known Australian Aboriginals have been presented.

Each denomination of the new series of banknotes will feature a different species of Australian Wattle and native bird within a number of the security features. On the $20 banknote, these are Box-leaf Wattle (Acacia buxifolia) and the Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae). Our banknotes are packed full of various security features, and is made of polymer.

However… Currently I believe there is no Royalty, now usually reserved for coins. But that may have also changed.

Presently, we have; Mary Reibey, a convict who arrived in Australia and later became an astute and successful businesswoman running her shipping and trading enterprises.






And on the flip side; Reverend John Flynn, who pioneered the world's first aerial medical service now known as the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The banknote celebrates Mary Reibey, a convict who arrived in Australia and later became an astute and successful businesswoman running her shipping and trading enterprises, and John Flynn, who pioneered the world's first aerial medical service now known as the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Their work is recognised in several design elements on the banknote, including an image of the RFDS De Havilland aircraft leaving a remote Broken Hill homestead in 1948 and a pedal-powered transceiver used by the service to improve communication in remote areas. The banknote also includes images of a Port Jackson schooner in Sydney Cove in the early 1800s, similar to the type owned by Mary Reibey. Beside it is a traditional Eora nowie (canoe). Aboriginal women fishing from these vessels were a common sight on the harbour in Reibey's time.

A historical note, the USA hasn't kept any bills over 100 in circulation for quite awhile now, don't want to make it easier for mobs of criminals and drug dealers to transfer or transport cash.

An interesting fact I picked up a few years back, those random looking 20's on the bill actually are overlaid pattern, called Eurion pattern.

The Eurion pattern on a U.S. $20 bill appears as clusters of small yellow circles arranged in a repeating pattern on the back of the bill. This pattern, nicknamed the "Eurion constellation" by the German computer scientist who coined the term, is a security feature designed to be recognized by copiers and imaging software, which then block the reproduction of the currency to deter counterfeiting.

Photocopiers and scanners are programmed to detect this specific geometric arrangement of circles.

When the pattern is detected, the software in the machine will refuse to copy or print the image, preventing the creation of counterfeit money.

I haven't seen a one dollar bill in a very long time. The Canadian Mint stopped issuing them in 1989. I think there worth $5 or $6 Maybe... Very cool.
