Hi all,

So having some really weird issues with Windows 11. I've recently upgraded to 910mbps with my broadband.
Running a speed tests on 2 different Windows 11 machines (hardwired) I'm getting 300-400mbps down and 900mbps up.

Testing with my MacBookPro on the same ethernet cable and port I get 910down and 920up (which is what I expect so it's not an ISP issue).

The 2 Windows 11 Machines I am testing on are an Intel NUC and Dell Pro Premium.
I have rebooted, updates drivers + windows, checked the power settings and turned off any power saving features on the adapters but still can't seem to achieve the full download speed.

I've also tried other sites for testing such as speedtest.net, NPURF and fast.com

I'm at a loss any ideas?

Looking at that device specs it appears it does not have a built in ethernet port but uses either a dock or usb ethernet adapter. Comparing either of thoses connection types to what you get if you are using a lan port built onto your MAC motherboard is not a good test. It is not like for like.
A better test would be to compare speeds using the wireless connection on both devices. If they are similar, the issue is in the ethernet adapter or dock, not Windows.

When you say you updated your drivers did you do so manually or using Dell's update tool. Did you also update your bios. New bios released on 2/16/26 New wifi and usb/dock ethernet drivers released 3/6/26.
If you have Dell Command Update installed on your system, I suggest you use that to keep drivers and bios updated..

I have the same problem and I'm looking for a solution since a while myself.

The problem might be Windows default settings and it's network "optimizations".
Edit - seems I spoke too soon... this worked for the Intel NUC for a short while and now its reverted back to how it was? , the Dell Laptop I only get around 300-500mbps download even after applying the same changes. Using "Optimal" on the tool and change all adapters selected.

Hence why I tested on 2 windows devices as well and got the same result as each other. I tried both manual and Dell command. The laptop is FULLY up to date both Windows/Hardware/Drivers/Bios etc.

No matter whether devices are Windows or Mac, the test would be valid only if using the same ethernet adapter. Did you use the usb ethernet adapter on all the devices you tested with?

Yes I tried both USB A and USBC Ethernet adapters on both and tried the onboard on the Intel NUC as well. Same results.

Did you try comparing speeds when connecting using wireless as I suggested?

I am assuming you are also performing these speed tests using the same ethernet cable AND router port. If not, eliminate both the cable and router port being the problem.

Only other things I would know to try is reset network adapters to see if it makes a difference. Do this while connecteed to USB adapter. Reset Network Adapters in Windows 11

Though I can't for the life of me think how it would have anything to do with this paticular issue, you can also reset network components using @FreeBooter attached batch file. Run it as administrator.
