sound through VB Audio-Virtual Audio Cable repeatedly cuts out for a second every 5 second like clockwork on new computer

Installed on Windows 11 Home. (It works fine on Windows 10)

I thought it was an issue with Bluetooth connection with my Airpods, but I realize that when I make the sound device the Airpods directly it works fine.
However I need the Virtual Cable to work for recording purposes.

I'm using VoiceMeeter Banana.

It's very consistent- I hear audio for 5 seconds then it cuts out for 1 second, then it's on for 5 seconds, cuts out 1 second, and repeat..
The "waveform" in Voicemeeter Banana disappears when the sound cuts out.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Virtual Cable, no effect.

Please advise.

I think I figured it out.

I unchecked Auto-Restart Audio Engine (All Devices). It seems to be working.

I still have I Auto-Restart Audio Engine (A1 Device) checked, and I believe this was also in the previous VoiceMeeter I was using on Windows 10 that worked fine. It appears that the "all devices" one works differently than I expected and tries to reconnect every five seconds or so.
