Hi, I'm new here.
I've installed a Sound Blaster Audigy Fx card, its a bit old but its works great in my older Optiplex, so I got one for my other PC
Spec below.
In the Control Panel, Speaker Set Up, after selecting 5.1 and doing a "Test". Only the 2 left and right speakers produce any audible sound.
All the other show the little sound graphic and the volumes bars show activity but no actual sound is emitted.
I have installed the latest drivers and installed the Sound Blaster SBS Pro Studio package.
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks

I have a Logitech Z906 ( I think) n the effect option was set to 3D, this singulars 5.1 from stereo. When I switched the “effects” off, I got my 5.1 test sounds working and it plays the correct sounds for a movie. Good luck 👍

Embarrassingly, my issue was not software related. One of the cables from the subwoofer to the soundcard had been severed! I did have sound from all speakers intermittently, so this had never occurred to me.

I wouldn't feel embarrassed. I doubt you had any reason to suspect the wire got severed. On the plus side, you were able to find and fix your problem. :-)

If you do have Z906 they are great sounding speakers and expensive, too bad card didn’t have an optical input then.
