I have a spare 970 Pro and a spare 980 Pro, I`m set.
I think right now is the time to buy some, most are very cheap, I got my 870 Evo 500GB directly from Samsung for $75 total.

I'm out of m.2 slots, so I might just get a 2.5 internal SSD. Those are pretty inexpensive at the moment as well. I was thinking a Samsung 870 EVO 1TB. I'd just be using it for storage purposes, so there's no need for such fast read/write speeds.

I was about to buy a new SSD when I remembered I had a spindle drive as the main drive in my computer I have taken down and a SSD. I thought the SSD was 500GB. It turns out it's a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO. So, I'm pretty set for hard drive space. I'll just pop this Samsung in my work system.

I just put it into my external drive reader. Oops. I pulled the boot drive out for that system. Well, dang. Back to the drawing board unless I clone this onto the spindle drive and use that drive as the slow boot drive. Hm. Might be easier to buy a new drive!

All I have are SSDs in my main system. I decided to leave the SSD in the other system. I might buy a large spindle backup drive (5TB or more). That way, I can use the 2TB external SSD in the enclosure I use as a backup drive. I just bought my wife a new Bose surround sounds system, so I'm being frugal for a bit. Spindles don't seem to be increasing in price at all.
