Start Menu Pinned Apps

This is very low priority, but I am curious.

I was looking at the pinned apps in my Start Menu and saw Xbox there. I've never used it and don't know if I ever will, so I right-clicked it and unpinned it. That worked, but I was expecting to see it listed below where all the installed apps are listed. I don't know if it was ever there, but it's not there now. Where did it go? I didn't uninstall it.

As far i know, you cant uninstall Xbox in 11 home/pro the normal way.. not even in the EU version of windows

I know this isn't the 'normal way' but Revo will uninstall it. It's listed under 'Windows Apps'.

i dont uninstall apps, i make sure they never get installed in the first place by modify the installer ISO. :-)

I was able to uninstall XBOX on EU install just fine from Add / Remove programs. Only components that require Revo (if the user wishes) are Gamebar, Gamebar Speech Window and Xbox Identity Provider.

Have they change it.. nice :-)
but is it only xbox or is it gamebar and that too that is removable with add remove programs.. or is it Revo to really purge Xbox?
I have not tried an out of the box install with win10/11 home/pro.. not even for test.

REVO Uninstaller (free) can uninstall anything. Make sure you also do the "Scan" for leftovers.

XBOX is removable with Add / Remove programs.
Gamebar and Speech requires Revo.

I tried to remove Get Started from the Start Menu, .... nope. Like, if you have owned the same computer for years, you still need the important Get Started function! I don't mind Windows Feature Experience Pack living somewhere on my comp - probably has other functions as well - but that shortcut still sitting in the Start menu after years is mildly silly. Is that shortcut a "feature" or a bug? :unsure:

I'd be careful about removing Game Bar because I use an older (2009) version of the MAME emulator and with Game Bar removed I got a “You’ll need a new app to open this ms-gamingoverlay” popup in the middle of the screen every time I tried to start MAME.

Might even do the same thing with other older games, I'm not sure. Never happened with Windows 10 and earlier versions of Windows, of course. Just more 'nonsense' that has been added to Windows 11.
