stop g-drive from synchronisation

Sorry if I post in the wrong category, my issue is my drive is full and I want to stop Google Drive from synchronisation.
Is there a way to stop it please?

Click Google Drive icon in task tray. Click gear icon. Select pause syncing. I've never checked to see if that setting holds after a reboot, so check that it does.
You can also go into Google drive preferences and remove any folders you no longer want to sync.


Consider these ways to keep from going over storage limit.

You can free up storage space by moving data from your synced folders to external storage. Once you do it will remove them from G Drive

If one uses cloud storage to sync folders and one doesn't want to purchase sufficient storage for their needs, it's smart to stop syncing some folders in preferences setting. However, this does not remove those folders from the cloud storage. You then must go into that cloud storage on the web and delete some of the files to free up storage space.

Some people keep a lot of emails that contain attachments such as photos that take up a lot of space. If this applies to you, keep in mind if you use a gmail email, all email data that you have saved counts as part of you G Drive storage limit. Delete all emails you no longer need. If they contain attachments such as photos, save the data to external media and delete the email.
