Hi I just made my account and so this is my first post, I am sorry if I am doing something wrong but I tried to follow all the tutorials for posting and attaching. Furthermore, I am unfortunately running windows 11 but I'm hoping you guys can help me since noone else seems to be able to.
OS build 22631.2861
From V2 log collector: OneDrive
So I have been having some issues with my new windows 11 install on my computer. I built my desktop myself and I have used it before, pre fresh install. I decided that I wanted to get Windows 11 so I switched out some parts, got a new chassi and SSD. Then I just needed to install Windows 11 on it. A friend let me use their windows media creation tool for windows 11.
It started out poorly and during installation I had some BSOD and the first one was almost always ntfs.sys and after that I got BSOD with multiple different error codes. I decided to clear CMOS and also secure erase my SSD through BIOS (it was new but I had been trying to install windows multiple times). After doing this I managed to get to CMD without crashing and was able to reformat the hard drive to GPT.
Now finally I could install windows, albeit it did blue screen once or twice but finished installing at least. Now I had the issue that I needed to get past the mandatory wifi connection trial but I was able to skip that part by running CMD and running oobe\bypassnro. Now it started but with limited windows but honestly it didn’t crash and I was happy. Now I had to install the LAN drivers so I could get some of that internet to download and set up my computer.
This is where it all got sour, I downloaded the driver (from my motherboards website) on a thumbdrive (I did not use the thumb drive that came with the motherboard since it was curiously empty) and proceeded to install it on my computer. I reboot and at first everything works but shortly after I get BSOD again now with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I reboot and again I get the BSOD almost immediately. I tried to get into safe mode and at last I succeeded and got to CMD. I tried to run bootrec.exe /fixmbr, bootrec.exe /fixboot and bootrec.exe /rebuildbdc but to no avail. It just says it can’t find these things so I run chkdsk /r c: but I can't actually do this since the computer crashes too fast just while checking the disks, I get to about 15-45% before it crashes. So I wanted to check my minidump files and to make sure my PC was making a record of the crashes. To go through the minidumps I would need to download some tool but I don’t have time to do that before the crash to BSOD happens. Sometimes I get logged in and windows actually starts but it may as well crash just as I see the windows logo on boot.
I have flashed BIOS to latest release but to no avail.
Also I am trying to update windows but keep getting an install error 0x800f0900 when I run the trubbleshooter itsays it has solved some things but the download still fails.
Now I am a bit lost as to what to do next. Maybe the driver is not up to date and I should try installing the LAN driver from Intel's website rather than from the official site for MAG Z790. But I am not even sure the drivers are the issue. I am still struggling since I do not have another computer available at the moment although I could arrange this but I can not have it working where my desktop is situated.
Just as a note the WinDbg tells me that my OS is windows 10 which is incorrect.
