Windows 11
I have read a couple of times about a Win11 built-in solution to switch back from default Win11 START menu to the previous Win10 START menu layout.
See e.g. here:

User have to create a new registry key "Start_ShowClassicMode" in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

and assign value 1

Is this true? I does not work here

Hi, explorerpatcher (free), recommended, offers that option and a good many others.

I've used it but not for that.

I'd rather use a competent start menu like a good many others- I like Open Shell (free). This properly represents the folders comprsing a start menu with ful drag 'n drop support, configurable search and very customisable skinnable appearance.

Depends on the day and my mood. Windows 10.

When Windows 11 was first released there was a simple Registry edit which restored the Windows 10 Start Menu (one of many things which shows Windows 11 is actually just Windows 10 with a bit of a... umm... 'facelift'). I don't know if it was this particular edit or another one.

Of course, as soon as MS found out people were using it they promptly removed it.
