Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (RP channel)
I noticed today the my mum's laptop has the new Windows Backup app installed, on Windows 10 build 19045.3448.

I thought this app was for Windows 11 only and only in Beta at the moment? There's no way she would have installed that herself.

This has been well discussed. It has been rolled out as a W10 update.

Fair enough, not being a Windows 10 user any more I don't follow the W10 forums.
At least now I know!

It's not really 'new', all the functions it uses were there already, spread out within Settings. It just brings them all together in one coherent app for ease of use.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

I noticed that and deleted Windows Backup since I use Reflect

It is in Windows 11 but bear in mind that it is not an image backup tool.

It is more of a settings and data backup tool but also backups what uwp apps you have.

For those who remember the Windows 8 Refresh Tool, it is more like that.

It is handy when you do a clean install as it saves you doing evrything from scratch.

Windows backup appeared as an app. I just left clicked it in Open Sell to uninstall it.
