Hi,

In my Win11 temp file, a log.txt file keeps updating on every boot.
Would anyone have an idea what program is making this log please?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like it is some SMART testprogram (like CrystalDiskInfo), that is testing your SDD's at startup.
You could have a look if you (accidently) enabled a program like that to start at boot.
@Berton told you how, maybe my info is telling you what to look for.

A text file that is made in the TEMP folder I myself would not bother about at all...

So far, have you tried just deleting that file?
Or,if you look at the properties of the file, you may get a clue what program created it.

It seems like a fairly simple LOG file, but the only thing I don't like about it, is "KINGSTON SHSS37A240G".
and that's because, I've been forced to add Kingston to my "NEVER MORE" list, years ago.

In Windows there is NO ONE single Temp folder. There are actually many temp folders.

So, what is the full path , to the temp folder in question.

Navigate thus -

Control Panel => System => System Properties => Environment Variables

or

Search Control panel for'System Properties' => Environment Variables

The 'TEMP' & 'TMP' entries in 'User Variables' & 'System Variables' will point to the required TEMP folders - in my case (edited to) 'E:\Temp'

I have a separate partion - E: - for all my temporay files & temporary internet files

It turns out it was Samsung Magician, I uninstalled it and now no more log file.
For those who wanted to know, it was in C:\Windows\Temp
