This piece of kit works brilliantly -- great for those who have a spare / redundant HDD -- good for offline backup / media storage etc etc.

Also good if you are on the road -- much easier to take a 1 X 16TB HDD than a load of data disks !!!
Loads of uses for this -- saves having to buy an enclosure as well - especially if you onl;y want to use 1 HDD.

I got mine from Amazon UK -- around 24 GBP. Inc VAT which might be recoverable.
Too many people just chuck old "Spinners" away -- plenty of use for them as backups, media storage, data storage etc.

These works -- I've been using it with 3 HDD's and no no glitches at all.

Cheers

I looked that device up and being sort of a gadget guy will have to get it for the portability alone. I have a similar device for the older PATA drives but in my work area use drive docks that take both 2.5" and 3.5" drives, two at a time and a mix of both. One of the docks is a hardware cloner, can't be connected to any computer for the process.

If you have to travel it's brilliant -- you can copy all your windows images , VM's other stuff too. -- one 16 TB HDD isn't that heavy and honestly having all that data saves messing about with zillions of other odd devices when on the road. Of course works equally well for lower capacity HDD's too,

Copying some data from NAS to the plugged in 16 TB device (/mnt/DV3)
