Win 11 Enterprise
Booted up my Win 11 Enterprise yesterday only to find my clock had gone back 1 hour (BST ending) and a message "Your pin is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device" I was effectively locked out but why? was it the fact that my clock had changed (now rectified in settings) or some other mysterious glitch........I couldn`t log into my Microsoft account due to not being able to log into my apartments building WiFi....what a blaady mess...fortunately I used my other pc to get a workround from Youtube and eventually got everything sorted back up and running again....my question to the more tech savvy on here is am I right in thinking as I had the change clock automatically for BST this caused the problem?

The clock and pin reset issue sounds like your BIOS may have reset. Did you also notice a date change?

When the Windows clock and the BIOS clock don't agree... Windows loses it's mind.
Not everything breaks... but a lot of stuff does.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?

No date change clock went back 1 hour due to change in BST...British summer time....I have since disabled "Adjust for daylight saving time automatically" hopefully that was the problem.
Also just checked my time zone was set to London UK not here in Thailand...now changed and all my region time zone and date/clock are identical to my win 10 pc...problem solved I hope.

Yes this is what I had to do in the end but my question is why....I,m assuming because my clock changed automatically to BST and hopefully someone on here can confirm this was so?

I don't think it's nothing to do with clock but i could be wrong what causes this problem is buggy security update, conflicting PIN data stored in the NGC folder, system file corruption and changes in security settings.

That should do the trick for the clock. What about the Pin issue?

Upon further investigation I see that it is quite a common issue in Win 11,many have reported it with quite a few fixes being suggested so I,ll keep my fingers crossed and hope it will not happen to me again in the future (y)
