Trueimage slow open of backup

I am using Trueimage 2025 to do weekly incremental backups to a NAS from two Windows 11 PC's on the local network.

If I try to open the backup file of PC 1 on that computer, it takes a very long time to show the different increments, then much longer to see the files. It also opens an additional Window with the title "Please locate the last volume of the backup." in which a file name can be entered. But that doesn't seem to do anything.

If I open the same backup file on PC 2, the result is instantaneous, as expected. Opening the PC 2 backup file on either PC works as expected.

Any ideas?

I used TI for years but it's been many many moons go so I can't state a solution for TI explicitly. I would troubleshot it as I would any other application that wasn't acting like it was supposed to.

Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the output at the end of the scan to see if any system files were fixed or unable to be fixed.
Perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflict causing the issue. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial
Uninstall the app using Revo Uninstaller Free. There is an installer and a portable version. Run it as admin. Be sure to check all the boxes of any leftover files and delete them. Restart and reinstall the TI program. Download Revo Uninstaller Free - Remove unwanted programs easily

Following your advice, I uninstalled using Revo, then reinstalled. That has worked.

Thanks for your help.

Did you installed the latest build: Acronis True Image 2025 (Build 42072 5/15/25)

I also have Acronis True Image 2025. I have it on 5 computers. For me Acronis True Image 2025 takes a long time to load just to get to the main menu. Is True Image slow to get to the main menu slow for you also? I haven't had to open a backup file in a real long time so don't remember if that is slow to load.

Yes, I installed build 42072. Takes about 12 seconds for main menu to appear.

For completeness sake, build 41810 is on the other PC and takes the same time to load.

If you're opening a large image backup, it takes some time. If you are doing incremental or differential backups and have a bunch of pieces, that adds to the time to open the file. I never spent any time worrying about how long it takes to open a backup, I rarely do that since normally I'm not needing them.

It takes my Acronis around 18 seconds to open from clicking on the Start Menu icon. The backup menu appears but it's blurred out for a few seconds, I'm counting that time as well. One of the delays is it checks all the backup jobs, so if you have a bunch of them, it takes longer. I have twelve different backup jobs configured in mine.

Hi gunrunnerjohn,

I too do not usually open backup files. Just occasionally when I've deleted something by mistake. But my recent experience with slow loading being an indicator of a more fundamental issue make me think it is perhaps something to do from time to time, just to be surer.

I can't help asking why twelve different backup jobs?

I have data on four logical drives, I do backups of each of them with a separate job. Since two are archive volume with few changes, they get backed up weekly. Two others get backed up more frequently. The boot volume gets backed up weekly. Then there are the backups for my off-line storage of the same volumes, that's two alternating drives that get backed up every two weeks.
