Turn Off Auto-save to Draft for Outlook / Home Office 2024

When composing an email in Outlook for Home Office 2024, is it possible to turn off auto-save and save to draft manually? I've successfully turned off auto-save in Word but I've been unable to find how to do this for this latest version of Outlook.

Thanks. But this latest version of Outlook (MS Home Office 2024) appears to not have a "File" tab and there is no "File -> Options" option.
I've seen some other confirmations of this.

Office Home 2024 does not include Classic Outlook. My guess would be that you have New Outlook. And you can not disable Auto Save to Drafts.

Office Home & Business 2024 does includes Classic Outlook 2024 for Windows.

I don't use M365, but I found the following and cannot confirm:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner to open Settings.
3. Scroll down and select Mail from the left-hand menu.
4. Under Compose and reply, look for a section called Save messages.
5. Find the option that says “Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes”.
6. Uncheck that box to disable autosave.
7. Click Save or simply close the settings pane — changes are usually applied automatically.

HOWEVER!!!

There is no confirmed documentation showing that this exact setting exists in New Outlook under the gear settings. Community reports suggest the new Outlook is still missing many of the advanced settings from the classic version, and this might include granular control over autosave intervals

I’d guess, Thunderbird (and the likes) are about to get very popular.

I've got the app version of New Outlook as part of my MS 365 and is no setting to change this afaik.

Scanning emails is a great source for data collection. I wouldn’t be surprised if this includes drafts.
Microsoft doesn’t hide from the fact it’s able to read communications (Via AI, not humans) but swears that no personal information is used in any process.
The agenda here, in my opinion, is to have (force) the user utilise Outlook the way Microsoft want’s it used for its own benefit. Manipulation of Outlooks settings are either:
A. Being disabled for many things across the board (for Microsofts benifit)
B. Not yet implemented, because they have their priorities that basically incorporate collecting data, and sending you spam at least once per day, unless you pay for M365 and use one Microsoft account with Outlook. Any additional Microsoft email account that isn’t the primary M625 email address, will receive spam/ads.


Having said all that. I use Outlook
