Solved Two Unknown Devices in Device Manager

So unknown that searches for drivers find nothing.

Delete or other treatment?

Might you tell us what those "devices" are, or post a screen shot?

To find out what they are, right click on each device, select properties, click details tab. Sometimes it will give a description or
a /ven/id. You can then go to PCI Lookup and enter the ven and id to get a description of the device.

Probably can't because they're just listed as "unknown device" (been there, done that)

Download and run Snappy Driver Installer ORIGIN (use Origin version ONLY - I use the one from MajorGeeks)

Run the indexing option only, at first (not the download/update all)
Identify the missing drivers
Install

DO NOT UPDATE other drivers just because you're prompted and/or they're offered. Only use to fix MISSING drivers

Chipset drivers usually help OS to identify devices, in your case probably Intel?

Yep. They usually take care of the "unknown devices"

1. Root\New\0000 This has a fair amount of traffic most of which is several years old, and may be part of the Logitech gaming software. I have the software for the MX Master 3 mouse, but no gaming software as far as I know.

2. Root\Oracle\BoxNetLFW\0000 This is from Oracle VBox software. A week or two ago, I found an Oracle folder in the C; drive, and removed it. (That is, I am rather certain that it was so labeled.) I had never heard of Oracle, took a look at it, and would have no use for it. A complete search for Oracle turns up all sorts of entries, none of which appear to me to be of any importance; it is as though the installation of the program, without ever using it, does something to cause such entries.

I am going to delete (2.), and hope that a reboot does not restore it. Should I do the same for (1.)?

sfc /scannow found and fixed three corrupt files in System 32.

The word "cipher" was once used as a synonym for zero, so I have a plethora of ciphers, which may be `cypherdelic.'

Thanks: The reference to the Dell page in the ditty led me directly to this: Unknown (1.) has a grand total of not a single hardware id, and a search for such a non-entity is not overly easy to accomplish.

Just a guess, obviously, but I suspect that Unknown (1.) is directly related to (2.), and deleting it would have no effect other than no longer seeing it in the Device Manager.

This thread and especially post #3 in that thread, may help.

I found this Dell article that says to remove the unknown device and then update your bluetooth driver. Bluetooth Adapter is Not Recognized or Shows Driver Error in Dell XPS 8930, Alienware Aurora R8, R9, Ryzen Edition R10 and R11 Systems | Dell Cayman Islands

Both Unknowns removed, computer restarted, neither unknown reappeared.
