Solved Two updates keep installing, no fix (?)

Hello folks, for the past 3-4 days a couple of updates keep installing. I've searched and searched, tried every possible solution, but nothing works. These are the two updates (below) that keep installing. I would appreciate it very much if someone, anyone here has a permanent fix.
*P.S. Yes I've also tried manually installing the updates (to no avail) and also ran Windows Update Troubleshooter (also to no avail).

KB2267602 Windows Defender update applies every day and always has the same KB# but a different version #.
What I would do is Click on download and install. Do they manually install as expected.
If so, for some reason they are not automatically installing. I would run through this series of steps to see if windows update will get back on the automatic track.

1. run troubleshooter-settings-system-troubleshoot-other troubleshooters-windows update-RUN.

2. Reset Windows update using Brink's tutorial Reset Windows Update in Windows 11 Tutorial

3. Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair

4. CLEAN UP COMPONENT STORE - From command prompt as administrator type dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
Analyze and Clean Up Component Store (WinSxS folder) in Windows 11 Tutorial

Then wait a day or two to see if the daily defender updates apply automatically

EDIT: I thought of something else. Do you have automatic maintenance disabled? I believe that's what controls these daily updates. Enable or Disable Automatic Maintenance in Windows 11 Tutorial

OK, so my issue now isn't the Win Defender Update, it's that pesky KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2402.27001). It installs every day and I've already done all of the suggested steps numerous times. I will try to Reset WinUpdate, but everything else doesn't solve this problem.

Same here! It keeps installing no matter what I've tried. It's more than a week now. W11 Pro.

This same issue with the same update number has been a recurring bug for some since early 2023. Reports all over the web about it.
I was affected in 2023 when I was on 22h2 but MS seems to have fixed the issue in the release version of 11.(at least for me)
I see you are running an insider build of 11. Go to your Feedback hub and enter that KB# in the search box to see what reports are there regarding it.

Other than that,
Only other suggestion I have is to try manually downloading and installing KB5007651 from the Update Catalog

Microsoft Update Catalog

If that doesn't work, try hiding the update Show or Hide Updates in Windows 11 Tutorial

What's funny is that this troubleshooter that you mentioned didn't find any updates to hide!!! :)))
No big deal. I'll pause updates for 1-2 months.

Did you check the insider feedback hub for any reports or response from Microsoft regarding that update?

Same here.
Manually installed update didn't solve the issue.
Everything else found (here +/- online) and tried lead to same result.
Like I said. No big deal. I've already paused updates for 1 week. Will see.

It seems that the issue is solved.
Did nothing but update the KB5037591 and KB5035942 which came a few hours ago.
"You're up to date"

Are you sure the update is actually installed? I've seen this issue a couple of times before and usually its because the update is only partially installed.

Have you tried removing it using wusa?

Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press Enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:5007651<kbnumber>

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

That was a typo, the command should be: wusa /uninstall /KB:5007651

OK, thanks. Well, I got a “The update KB5007651 is not installed on this computer” popup.
*P.S. It keeps installing when I run Windows Update.

I suspected that would be the case, could you please do a FRST registry search using the following instructions?

FRST Registry Search
1. Click your Start button and type in cmd.
2.After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
3. Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt:

reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\COMPONENTS

4. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
5. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
6. Copy and paste KB5007651 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
7. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

Hi,

This won't fix the problem, but perhaps you can use the Microsoft wushowhide.diagcab tool to hide these updates while waiting for a fix?

I use it to block the installation of obsolete drivers that Windows Update absolutely wants to install.

Which antivirus you use ? Because this update is for Micrsoft Defender antivirus.
