Microsoft Photos app does not come with the Uninstall option. But today I found this:
The last two items under 'Other' are essentially Microsoft Photos app. I don't know how this app got uninstalled. Now if I try to reinstall it from the Store, I am getting this error:
1. Does anyone know how to fix this?
2. Can anyone explain what could have caused the Photos app to be uninstalled?
This was because File Explorer was unable to display thumbnails for some of the media.
I never noticed that Microsoft Photos has disappeared from the system. I happened to notice this today by chance.
Also, for the last few days, Microsoft Store would show an update being available for the Movies app, it will download and when it is at about 99% completion of installation, it will give out an error: Something happened at our end.
I solved the Photos problem but created identical problem with the Movies & TV app. Since it was not updating, I tried uninstalling it from the Start Menu itself. That was a mistake. I should have used Revo Uninstaller instead. Now I have an icon for Movies and TV app that is refusing to go away, even though the app is uninstalled. When I try to install the app via the Store, it is giving the same error as earlier with the Photos app.
The way I identified the app is by right clicking on it and choosing Rate & Review. This opened the Store page for the app and that’s how I learnt which app it was. You could try the same or any of the other options available to identify the app.
Thank You @TheMystic You solved mine to. I did as you said and went to rate and review and reinstalled them, that cleared the list in the start menu. The 2 programs were 3D viewer and voice recorder Thanks

All the fixes for Windows 10 also work in Windows 11. Also if any application or game runs in Windows 10 64-bit, it also runs in Windows 11. So far I haven't seen any exception to this rule. Some older fullscreen games that did not work properly in Windows 11 fixed when I right-clicked on the icon, selected Properties, Compatibility and checked to disable fullscreen optimization (or similar).
