Unwanted padding on the left side of the item in File Explorer

I upgraded Windows 11 to 22H2 and now I have unwanted padding on the left side of each item in File Explorer.
The padding is only visible if the ListView is selected.


I launched Windows Sandbox on my machine and things are looking exactly the same there.


Is that the new normal?
Is there a way to adjust the padding?

Blank space in front of file names, List view?

Windows 11, file explorer: I was viewing files in list view, selected a few, and accidentally clicked Copy as Path (I was aiming for Properties and missed). Now, ALL my files and folders in List view have this weird blank space in front of them. It's the size and place that a green circle check...

In the List view compacting seems to work only on the vertical spacing of file names, not on the spacing between the file name and checkbox on the left of it. It's almost like the "designers" left room for a future column being placed there.

Correction. I do see the padding in List view, but not Details view.

I'm running the same Insider build Brink is running and I have the space also. When my wife takes a break from her laptop I'll see if she has it too. I'm not sure what release build she is using.
