I forgot about the download, it finished and it was seating there waiting for me to confirm the install.

Everything end up well.

Had no problem at all with this --running as a VM on a BIOS only old NAS server -- using VM's you can run W11 on rediculously old hardware so long as CPU is powerful enough and you have enough Disk space (fast disks!!) and memory. So NAS with dual XEON processors and 32 GB RAM - installed to VM on external SSD - performance also more than adequate -- better in fact than native install on a laptop with an Intel i5 core. !!!. Processors in the NAS (X2) XEON E3-1290 Quad Core 3.6 GHZ from 2015 so a really OLD set !!!!

If you don't "Poodlefake the CPU" in the VM config on the HOST this is what happens -- here's on W10 the message you get





Trick is of course to have EFI and MSR partition on the "Virtual disk" with sec boot and emulated TPM and "poodlefake" the CPU topology in the VM's config to a supported CPU model. You need to use the "Virtual CPu" in this case because if you choose Host CPU pass thru you might get some strange BSOD's because W11 might attempt to execute instructions that don't exist in the physical CPU. By using the Virtual CPU (at least in the KVM Hypervisor) any "missing" CPU instructions will be intercepted and translated into alternate equivalents. This costs a bit of performance but if the HOST CPU(s) is / are powerful enough the overhead is easily absorbed.

For me this package got installed automagically. Don't know what time it got installed nor how long it took. No issues to report.

Mine was there today when i booted, Must have already downloaded yesterday, Clicked on install and it took about 1 second xD
