This installed this morning. Now I have the setting shown in the picture. Every time I restart I get a yellow warning triangle that LSA is disabled, I dismiss it and get the green tick again.
Also every time I check for updates AM platform 1.0.2303.27001-0 tries to install.

MS really know how to mess things up!

Same here.
You want to keep reinstalling AV update 1.0.2303.27001.
I have never experienced as many errors as I have recently...

It seems every Security app update is more broken the last. This update is crashing more than the previous one

So as a workaround for the crashing bug if you use Group Policy and choose to hide the Device Security section the service no longer crashes and you can keep TPM enabled you just won't be able to view the Device Security section anymore which is pointless anyways.

I'm running Home edition, no Group Policy editor.
I'm looking for some real solution, not a cover-up.
Strangely, the "KB5007651" update is no longer found in the Microsoft Update Catalog...

There is no real solution as we can't fix Microsoft's programming error. We can only apply a bandaid and in this situation it works very well. There is literally zero reason to even go into the Device Security section of Windows Security.

I have just updated my Defender in Windows 10 and it updated from a problematic 4.18.2303.8 to a problem-free 4.18.2304.8
WD 4.18.2304.8.png

I believe that the same will happen to the Windows 11 Defender when you next tell it to update definitions [it always includes platform updates when it updates definitions].
I'm just about to dive out the door but wanted to let you know since I'd noticed this thread earlier. I'll check my Win11 computer in the next couple of days.

All the best,
Denis
