Using Cloud storage for file sharing within a committee

The Building & Woks sub-committee of our local church is looking to place documents in the Cloud so that members can share/view files placed there.

What we are looking for is a cloud storage area which appears on individual authorised B&W member's PC as a folder on their hard drive. The same folder will appear on every member's hard drive as a folder which they can access, via password protection, and use just as they can do with other folders on their hard drives. ie View, amend, delete, add and so forth.

In short we are looking for an on-line, cloud based, storage area separate from each member's own PC's hard drive but accessible as if it was on their hard drive. I realise that is what cloud storage is, and there are many packages out there, but most seem to be for individual use as I describe. I am looking for a package which several people can access and share. Most are using PCs but there may be some using Apples.

I would appreciate comments from anyone who has experience of what we are after.

It looks to me like you could establish a common dropbox (or any other cloud service) account, install dropbox app on each PC with each member logging in under the same account. (Note, this might cause a problem if any of the members are already using a dropbox account of their own) You definitely would NOT want to use onedrive as it would open up a can of conflicts with all users own onedrive accounts.

Is there a particular reason why you want a folder on each member's computer? Any cloud account's web interface should work just as well to access all the files in a cloud account.

Does your church have a Web site/Domain? Most do and a folder could be created on it to hold those files and gives users access to them. Should also be able to password access to it.

Thanks for your replies.
Glasskuter - I agree re One Drive - that has given me problems personally and have removed (as much as I can) from my PC.
At present my favourite is to use Dropbox personal account and share Id and Pw. Not sure if Dropbox would like that.
As for a folder on each member's account, that is just for convenience for them to have a place for files they need locally for their particular role.

Berton - we do have a web site and files could be stored as you suggest. Main issue would space availability. I think that is usually more expensive than dedicated cloud storage. But it is an option.

If one needs a file for his use one can download the file through the web interface. Just as one can drag a file from his own computer onto the web interface to upload it which gives everyone else access to it.
