I have been trying to find a way to allow ONLY specific Java programs to have access to my protected folders. Unfortunately, I have only been able to allow only executables (.exe) programs. I do NOT want to allow javaw.exe, because that would allow ANY Java program to have access. I am running both Windows 11 Pro and Windows 11 Pro-insider and neither version seems to have the required mechanism. Either ALL java is allowed or NO java is allowed. Should I post this to a Java forum? I know how interpreted code gets performed, so I know the OS really only sees the Process. It would be difficult for the OS to know what is being interpreted. But a fetch of a file with the pre-requisite extension and name might do it. Or maybe Java needs to cooperate more with the OS. Or worse, I have to drop protected folder access and lose one of the major benefits of Win 11.
