OS
Windows 11
Setup -
Windows 11 latest
Graphic card - NVIDIA GeoPorce GTX 1660 (also updated to current)
Monitors - BenQ EW2780Q and BenQ PD2700U

Since a recent clean reinstall I have been having difficulties setting up my dual display. Prior to this it was generally OK. I have tried display setup options both in Windows and in Nvidia.
Because the native resolution of the two monitors is different (2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160) I have set the later as the main screen.
However I am having multiple issues trying to get them setup - trying to get the two monitors reasonably matched, reasonable sizes (default is a bit small for me so prefer bigger text and displays. Some apps have very small text despite having increased in other apps, Publisher left hand panel only displays 2/3 of the page and I can enlarge it but not show full page. Main panel is OK. The issues go on. I have tried everything I can think off to set text and general display but if I get one looking OK, the other one isn't. Should be possible to get them reasonably matched as I did before and did briefly with the new installation - when I rebooted later it changed back to a bad setup.
Sorry - not a clear description of the issue but difficult to do so.
I assume I can't setup the two monitors independently or is there a way to do so?
Having fiddled so much trying to set this up properly a sensible option is to reset to default and start again. Other than going to al individual settings is there a proper "reset" facility? And is there a logical and proper way of going about setting up the dual displays and text display sizes.

Hi, @Sigurd. I have this Graphics card, I am running (technically 6) 5 direct monitors and one 24" Drawing screen. However your monitors are a lot better than mine are.

Generally I just use the display page in the Windows settings. (screenshots split into two as the page is too long)
Is playing with these settings not working for you?

Re-reading your post, I see your problem is a lot more complicated than I gave a response for..

I have setup the two monitors so that I can display apps on both and work them as one. By that I mean, for example, if doing community magazine, I have Publisher in front of me and Word running at the side, so I can drag and drop or cut and paste copy submitted as a Word document to layout on Publisher. That is not a problem. (Though I created one for myself using NVIDIA app - had to use Windows Setting Display to unravel it - keeping clear of NVIDIA app now!).
My basic problem is trying to get a decent print and display size on each monitor. Due to ageing eyesight I need them a bit bigger that default.

They’re decent sized monitors. You have 2 x 27”?
With the new app arrange setting at the top of each monitor (Drag an app or window toward the top edge of screen to arrange it) and the text size adjustments in accessibility... AND the settings in System Settings in the “Scale & layout” section, use the Scale settings and select one of the predefined sizes, including 100%, 125%, 150%, and 175%. With a bit of messing about, you should possibly be able to come to a compromise that suits you?

I have however not even tried the app arrange settings by dragging apps/windows toward the top of screen, I haven’t had time.
Alt tab works of course switching between apps, but having one app on one screen and the other on the second screen should work as you want it? But like I said, if you want the scaling to be identical, a bit of fiddling might be in order.

I realise I possibly might not be interpreting your frustrations correctly, I apologise if I am not.

Your capabilities are ultimately gonna hinge on your graphics card...,

However, with onboard graphics, like I've got with this Laptop, Windows 11 recommends 1920x1080 for a 4K monitor! 🤷‍♂️

And, I don't see this option in W11...

Sorry, I'm not much help, am I!?!?!? :zip:

I've got the two displays working side by side with the cursor moving correctly left and right. I seem to recall a specific control for that but if I am correct it's no longer there I reset text size, resolution and scale all back to recommended or default. I am not using the Nvidia software nor the BenQ app. They both made things worse, though probably my fault for not reading the manual fully. Now everything looks like it was pre W11 reinstall. A text a bit small for my eyes but will slowly adjust text size and display scale and carefully note the effect on both screens.
I still have the issue with Publisher which I assume is a separate though related issue - the left hand pages panel only showing the left hand 2/3 of the page. The main editing panel is fine. I'll play around with that and see if I can sort it. If not, separate post probably better.
Thanks all for our help.
Edwin - that is odd - why recommend a low resolution setting for a high res monitor?

Publisher sorted itself after a reboot! But the OneDrive made another attempt and switching itself back on. Does that thing never give up!
