Hello Windows forum wizards. I have a custom built (built it myself) little workstation I use for work. It's been going strong for about a year without issue, but now is having a BSOD issue. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it showing up, but mostly does it when it's idle and I'm away from it. Specs are as follows:

Intel Core i5 12400 (with stock cooler)
Gigabyte B660M BS3H board
G.Skill Ripjaw 2x16 DDR4-3200
Smart 430W - Thermaltake PSU
I have a 4tb Seagate HDD for storage, and the OS is on a 1tb m.2 NVMe drive (forgive me, I forgot the brand but I THINK it's a Crucial p2, it's under a heat sync)

I haven't taken any steps to use driver or BIOS updates to resolve, only because I recall seeing somewhere to not do that prior to having you look somewhere on the old ten forums when I had an issue with a different PC years ago.

I'm not overclocking anything, and temps seem to not be an issue. V2 is posted below. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!!

The computer likely has malfunctioning RAM.

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run: Tuneup plus:

Post share links into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

2) Make a new system restore point:

3) The BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends International, LLC. F5, 1/17/2022

Upgrade the BIOS: F5 > F27

(The most up to date non-beta BIOS)

4) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes

Take pictures > post share links into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

Plan to run the testing overnight while sleeping and during the next day.

The 32 GB RAM can be tested simultaneously or one at a time in the same DIMM.

From the two dumps we have I agree that RAM is the most likely cause of these two BSODs. However, in your System log there are six BSODs logged, what happened to the other four dumps?

My only concern would be that all six BSOD were 0x3B with a 0xC0000005 exception code (memory access violation). In the two dumps we have however, the system service exception happens in different functions. If this is a RAM problem - and you do need to test the RAM - I'd expect to see varied bugchcecks, not all the same. THis is why it's important to keep all dumps, so if you run a disk cleaner please stop it deleting dump files - you never know when you're going to need them.

I ran the memtest and it detected an issue with the memory. I've since replaced both sticks with 2 new sticks. I'm about a day in an no issues so far. Will update in a week if it stays clean. Thanks for your help!
