Yep, I’m content with my old ASRock Z97 board with a 4790k and 32 gig ddr3 ram, and 1 gigabyte speed Internet, as just a web surfer, I’m actually overkill. 😁

The "data centre" threatening to infiltrate our little town is actually chiefly dedicated to bit coin mining. Not that the residents will benefit from this, but somebody certainly will. Methinks I will need to upgrade my tinfoil hat because what was once regarded as conspiracy theory is vastly manifesting as physical fact. Free CCTV for all tax payers while the deep fakes keep on getting better. Can you imagine deep faking on the fly?? Oh, the joys of modern technology! The future is at your door! :cool:

Same. Tariffs will likely make short work of that. Even then we are talking China here. Very likely not the sort of quality one might expect from Micron or Samsung. Hardly surprises me that Corsair would get their toe in the door on this but I really can't blame them. Only time will tell.

The folks that think AI is going away are living in some sort of pipe-dream. AI will end up doing more, and less, than the pundits are predicting. It's very early in the game, and I suspect that the real winners and losers are yet to be sorted out. It may morph away for the massive data centers that are being built right now, but it ain't going away anytime soon! There will be lots of winners and losers in the AI game before the dust settles.

they are reportedly ramping up production for obvious reasons and YMTC are building new production facilities.

I remember the .5 cent crank handle coke vending machines, had one at the gas station I worked at. Use to buy my Dad a 2 packs of Marlboro's and took them home after work, .20 cents a pack. :-)
