The man certainly made his point. Myself, I'm a bit put off when figureheads insist on resorting to potty mouth to make their point. I'm in 100% agreement that leaning on AI results in intellectual atrophy. The argument that AI isn't even that good is moot when it keeps on getting rammed (no pun intended) down our throats. AI robs us of our intellectual property, compromises integrity, and undermines practically all that can be called human. That is my view on AI so, of course, I agree that the primary goal of the next generation working directly with compute should be to annihilate AI.

I started out to do my current build with 32GB, but ended up with 64GB. I was pricing the memory last year and had settled on one 32GB "kit" of two 16GB sticks. However, at the last minute I saw a better price on a 32GB "kit" with the same specs, so I bought that. I didn't realize that it was a single stick and I was giving away half my bandwidth! When I realized that, I just ordered another 32GB stick and called it good. At the time the 32GB stick was only $52 so I just figured "what the hell". :lmao: Now the same32GB stick is $300! :eek1:

When I started the x299 build the kit of Micron RAM I bought was $84 CA for 2X16, I bought one kit and tested it out and decided to fully populate the board. Each month I would buy the same kit until I had a full 128GB of RAM, all Micron, heat-sinked and low profile for a massive cooler. The same kit today costs around $369 retail. 369 X 4 = $1,476 for RAM (plus tax). I don't even know if its available anymore because Micron pulled the plug on the domestic end users. So, essentially I got 4 kits of DDR4 for today's price of 1. (Original total $336 CA plus tax)

Silverstone got pushed out to the sidelines at Computex because apparently they were "not AI enough". Nope. I don't think RAM prices will be dropping significantly any time soon.


Nice to see large PC cases making a comeback though. ;-)

It really is laughable, isn't it? Seems if the product isn't promoting AI these days it is left by the wayside. Doesn't matter how many don't want it. We gonna get it anyway.
