  • Staff
Setting up cellular service on your smartphone typically requires you to get a SIM card and insert it into your smartphone. But the next time you add service, it could be a card-free experience and as simple as logging into an app – thanks to iSIM.

Adam Polak, Senior Staff Engineer and standardization lead for hardware security platforms at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., will share details on iSIM technology in an upcoming webinar on July 13th with the Trusted Connectivity Alliance:

"This webinar will provide practical guidance and technical insight to help SIM vendors, SoC makers, mobile operators, device manufacturers, service providers and test tool developers support the increased development of integrated SIM solutions.”

As a member of the Trusted Connectivity Alliance, Qualcomm Technologies shares the vision of continued growth of connecting everything to the internet safely and securely. The company actively supports the GSMA's integrated eUICC specifications and contributed to the new TCA iSIM whitepaper that will be covered in the webinar. You can read the full whitepaper here: Integrated SIM: A Practical Approach.

The first mobile solution to support eUICC is the Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform. The built-in Qualcomm Secure Processing Unit (SPU) in the Snapdragon 888 features an integrated Secure Element (iSE), enabling new security-critical use cases and applications.

Qualcomm Technologies was also the first to demonstrate iSIM in a smartphone and, along with Vodafone and Thales, showcased the world's first smartphone demonstration of iSim in January 2022.

For the latest information on our iSIM technology, be sure to sign up and tune in to the webinar on Wednesday, July 13th.
