Weird Display Scaling Issue (for the Gurus)

I'm commissioning a new Windows 11 PC. I installed my trusty copy of MS Money 2005 (UK) for managing finances which worked fine on Windows 10. It installed fine on Windows 11 but I noticed checkboxes were not checked in the program despite being actioned and the menu options were truncated.

I 'm running two displays - one at 2560x1440 at 125% scaling and the other 1920x10280 at 100% scaling. On moving the Money window across to the second monitor I noticed it displayed fine. It also displayed fine on the 2560x1440 monitor when I set the scaling back to 100%. I had problems as soon as I set the scaling back to 125%. However, when I set a custom scaling of 125% all displays fine.

There is an obvious incompatibility here running an old program. Why does the custom 125% scaling work fine whereas the normal 125% scaling option doesn't work properly?

When you switched to the "normal" 125% scaling, did logout and login before testing Money?

You much right-click on the Money shortcut, select Properties and go to Compatibility tab. You have to change the scaling options so it doesn't use the global system scaling, but uses an independent scaling just for this application which you set to 100. Sorry, I am not using my Windows 10 PC right now, so I cannot guide you exactly. Just try the relevant settings and you will figure it out.
