Where to get latest Windows 11 media for fresh install on supported laptop


Well, I got lots of good help. Took me just a couple minutes to screw the whole thing up. With my poor eyesight, I deleted a wrong partition and now it won't boot up. It says can't install on the partition big enough it says it bit encrypted. Boy what a screw up without my glasses I guess I'll learn. Appreciate all the good help from everyone! (y)

To fix your problem:


You need to clean the installation drive so all partitions are gone.
IMPORTANT: if you can, disconnect any other drives connected to your system.

Restart the install


When you get to the following screen, use Shift + F10 to start the Diskpart Clean process


  • During install, when this first window appears - First Window may be different in Win 11 25H2 than the image below (Win 10):

  • Hit the Shift + F10 keys
    • A command window will open
    • Press enter after typing in each command below and let it complete the command, you’ll know when each command is done as it will repeat the command to you or give a result for the command.
    • Type; diskpart then press [enter]
    • Type; list disk then press [enter]
    • Type; select disk Xthen press [enter]
      • X being the drive position/number of your install drive. (The result of list disk)
        • IMPORTANT: Be careful that you are cleaning the right drive/disk, hence disconnecting any secondary drives. Don’t accidentally diskpart your USB Pen drive. It will have the disk size next to each disk entry.
    • Type; clean then press [enter]
    • Type; convert gpt then press [enter]
    • Type; exit then press [enter]
    • Close the command window
    • You should now only have one un-allocated partition
    • Continue with the install

Instructions said go into control panel and turn of bitlocker then try again.

Yes — DiskPart will still wipe the drive, because clean doesn’t try to decrypt anything.
It simply removes partition information at the sector level.


BitLocker does not protect the disk from being erased. It only protects the contents from being read.
