Wi-fi speeds plummeted with reboot of computer

He posted the Linkspeed connection above. Connected at 1201 mbps.
That is the connection speed when connected by Ethernet, not WiFi.

I refer you to the title "Wi-fi speeds plummeted with reboot of computer"
"I am down to .45-1.5 mbps down and about 200 up."

Are you using a company notebook/PC?
Have they unblocked the app or is this the way it's suppose to be for them?
I know that , my Daughter, working from home for the CA Gov. can't install
any apps or programs that isn't approved first by the IT department so, it might
be the same for you but, that still doesn't explain your situation with WiFi.

The only other suggestion I have would be to use System Restore if you have it on.
I know it's been a few days now but, if you can, use one that is the closest to the event.
IF you are to use System Restore, pls make sure to exit or deactivate any security programs
you have installed even the one you use to block content. You do not have uninstall any
just exit or deactivate them for the time it takes for the System to complete the restore.
OR, do you, by any chance, use a backup system like eg: Macrium Reflect or Aomei?

Sorry, I thought you knew what system restore was. Let me show you where to locate it and hopefully
it is on as by default it is not and you would have to activate it manually. This should be on by default.
So, Settings / System / scroll all the way down to About. Click on it. In the next page, you'll see
System Protection as a link. Click on it. This will call up the System Restore app. Once up, click on the
C:// drive in the middle box to highlight it. Click on Configure to see if it is turned on. Screen shots below:

If you do not have restore points because it is not turned on then pls turn it on so you can
easily recover from a bad situation in the future.

Wow! That's an amazing tutorial. TY. I got to the last step and clicked on system restore. It rings up a dialog box, but after a few seconds on the screen it disappears.
That is most likely because there are no points to restore too.
So, highlight the C:// drive in the middle box.
Click on "Configure" to adjust the percentage of space you want to allow the restore points take up. (5 or 6 gigs.More if SSD is 2TB)
Turn ON system protection by clicking on the radio button next to it.
Once that is done, click on the OK button on bottom. That screen will disappear.
Usually, I restart the PC.
Go back to the same screen "System Protection".
Click on System Restore to see if the restore point screen will come up. If not, there are no restore points to be had.
Back to System Protection screen.
Click on the Create button. Give it a name (whatever you want) and click on the Create button.
Wait for Windows to take a snapshot of the registry and until the screen says Restore Point Successful. Click Close.
Now, click on the System Restore button to see the restore point that was created.
Windows will create a System Restore point on it's own about once a week and Before installing major updates.
This tool is to backup the registry in case of a bad driver or bad configuration of Windows or you just made a
mistake. It will not affect you installed programs and apps only the registry that was badly configured.
The restore point is there to bring back the registry before the mishap.

That should take care of System Restore but, still not your WiFi. At this point, I really
don't know how to proceed. Since this seems like a software problem, it might be time
for a Clean Boot. This will stop all active processes and will allow only the ones that are
needed to boot Windows. From there you can see if it's a software problem or a defective
component. Another thought, did the content blocker you have installed have updated
their program recently? This could also be another avenue to verify. This is why a
system restore point or a backup of the OS is really important to have around.
can you verify with the content blocker people if they have updated their program
lately and you didn't know about it.

This topic has devolved into a problem on top of problem issue. For additional troubleshooting I might suggest to try booting your PC with any Linux Live USB available or even using Hiren's Boot USB. With these you're basically booting up the system with bootable flash media(USB drive) and should be able to test your wifi connection speeds. This will basically help eliminate the current OS load as the possible culprit. Or as an alternative pull your current drive with Win11 installed and attach another SSD for testing. Next reinstall Win11 clean on the newly attached drive, update and see how the wireless speeds are.

I wish this would be possible but, I don't think this will give results as we are not helping a member
with allot of experience in these other ways of booting with Hiren or Linux. I think the best way to
proceed is to be realistic on what we can ask of this member.
If you are willing to step by step it then, by all means.
