Will disable bitlocker in 23H2 be carried over to 24H2?

Maybe we should look into ways of permanently disabling and deleting bitlocker so it cannot run. It reminds me of ransomware, only without the ransom. At least with ransomware you could potentially pay to get data back.

Probably because I didn't create a microsoft account is the only reason I didn't have it turned on with 23H2. Stubbornness pays dividends.

If it can't backup the key, because there is no account to back up to, then it won't enable bitlocker.

I guess that's a good reason not to blindly install updates.

As usual, I'm more terrified of benevolent attempts to keep me safe than any malevolent threats.

actually you are almost spot on with that sentence.
More and more ransomware actually using bitlocker to encrypt the victims data... so ripping it out from the filesystem is actually not a bad idea when you dont use it. ;-)

I'm much more worried about locking myself out then having to hire a criminal to get back in lol

I live even more dangerous.. I use Veracrypt on several disks with different really strong passwords and i dont have them written down or in any password managers. The day my memory fades I'm screwed. :giggle:

also no backdoors.

Same here.. all really sensitive documents and work related stuff its totally offline.
I do have some encrypted stuff that isn't offline, but its only personal photos from holidays old CV's and new CV.. Nothing sensitive, but still a bit to personal if i got hacked.
