I was very happy with my homepage, Twenty buttons, light solid color background. after an update I got a full screen image, MSN, and no way to change it. How can I get back to my custom page.

2) Check to see if there are any restore points



3) Run administrative command prompt:

dism /online /get-currentedition
dism /online /get-targeteditions
dism /online /get-packages /format:table >c:\packages.txt
wmic qfe list brief /format:table >c:\qfelist.txt

Just to be sure that I address the correct item, when you say your "Win 11 Homepage", could you clarify what you mean by this? Are you talking about the home page in your browser? If so, what browser are you using? Or are you talking about your login screen or the desktop background when you are logged in?

Thanks for that. I have dabbled with AI which suggested adding an extension Custom New Tab. I tried to recreate my original homepage but got lost in the HTML and CSS. I will look at your project and see how it is done. Looks like I just need to use an existing tab instead of the recreation.

How did you customise it in the first place? Just re-set it the same way you did to get the first customisation?

Using MS Edge will always carry with it the inconvenience (a polite way of saying PITA) of Microsoft/Windows re-setting back to their own preferences (or at least partially) after an update (albeit usually a major update). You will have to repeat the customisation process each time this happens.

Microsoft seem to have locked it down. Cant get rid of full screen image or MSN which I don't want.
Customisation options seem to be missing but will look at it again.
Would do a roll back but don't have a restore point.

Am i the only one with this problem?

That's exactly what I do to make my Edge look the way I want. 3 clicks and I'm done!

Use "Page settings" (gear icon at top right) on the New Tab page to switch off background and content.
I dont seem to have this option. When I click the gear icon it gives me a fly out which says page settings. When I scroll down this i get to a title which says content settings and a button which says Manage. A content management page appears giving me a series of switches for each part of the content. All of these are set to OFF but content still there.So all the videos I have seen showing how easy it is I understand but what I'm getting isn't the same.
So i am still stuck with this problem.

Before that, the fourth box down has a "Show content" on/off switch and the fifth has the "Background" on/off switch.

If you have only a few of these settings I would suggest try going to main Windows settings - Apps - Installed Apps - Microsoft Edge - more (3 dots) - modify and then repair Microsoft Edge . Keeps your user data and settings.

I have had the screens shown by Fabler2 but not now. I think I need to repair Edge as it now seems obvious that it is damaged.

Just an update to let everyone know how i got on.

Tried repairing Edge but didn't work. Used Wise uninstaller to get rid. Didn't work. Used Wintoys, success it is gone.
Installed DuckDuckGo and it does what I wanted and very easily.

Once again many thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.
