MS pushed the latest updates to my PC's, both work and home and I am starting to see little weirdnesses on both machines. Both machines are physically identical, except for the graphics cards. I liked my work machine so much I bought all the same hardware for at home, and the upgrade at home is less than a month old.
A small list:
1. Video artifacts - Nvidia drivers, all up to date
2. Taskbar clock disappeared and then came back in a new format (only on my home machine)
3. Icons scrambled with every bootup and will not sort properly at home. Two sets of A-Z icons, rather than all icons sorted A-Z. I also can't place icons where I want as they are constantly mixed up. Work machine does not do this.
4. Programs at work that have never crashed before are crashing on a regular basis now. Programs support Win 11.
5. Lag on loading programs/apps.
6. Mouse clicks are sometimes non responsive when selecting an icon from the desktop, also when selecting files from Explorer. Both machines.
7. Gadgets move around to my main screen on sleep and are placed all over the desktop at home. It never did this prior to the updates.
I have run Memtest86+ for hours on both machines with no errors, I have run CHKDSK on both and physically checked the hardware. It's solid.
I am not sure what strategy I should employ. Should I just uninstall the latest updates? Or am I looking at a full re-install here?
I am open to suggestions if anyone has any idea what I should do.
