Hi all,
First post, been using these forums though since Windows 7, many thanks for all the brilliant tutorials and help over the years!

Has anyone experienced this...

Win+V Clipboard Manager doesn't work if in a Password field on a website (and maybe elsewhere?)

I sometimes have to login in repeatedly on loads of websites that timeout and often have the various passwords on the Win+V Clipboard Manager

It cant be for security reasons as I can click any other field on the webpage, or Notepad or anywhere else and bingo, there is the Clipboard Manager!

If anyone has any ideas what's causing this or even better, an easy fix, that would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Welcome to Eleven Forum, both of you

Yes, I can confirm that, using Firefox 93.0 on this site Win+V doesn't work, but only for the password field.

What is really odd is that with exactly the same browser and website it does work in Windows 10 !

Thanks for the replies.
‘Glad’ (not the right word but you know what I mean!) it’s not just me, I was thinking of doing a clean install as this was a Win 10 upgdate.

Incidentally, I’m using a Gen 7 CPU so I had to use the ‘official’ MS fix to upgrade to Win11. Are you all on recommended hardware?
Would be surprised if it’s only effecting us rogues upgrading against MS advice…

Yes I too use the Clipboard Manager all the time and can’t see the benefit of it being a security feature as you can obviously still open Win+V and see everything just by pasting into a different field. I’ve found myself having to paste it into notepad and use Ctrl+V instead which I agreed ‘super frustrating!’

Hoping someone clever than me can find this elusive Reg key to fix this. I have had a quick look but not sure where to start looking. 😀

I have both types of hardware, fully supported and well below requirements. This behaviour is the same on all of them. It's definitely a new 'security feature' in W11.

Having the same problem. It's not that big a deal. Just an extra step when logging in to some web sites. If it's a "security" thing then it's stupid. You can go to a different field and use Win +V to see any password in the clipboard. Sometimes "security" is just an inconvenience for legitimate users. Other than that Windows 11 seems to work great. Everybody have a great day!

I too have this annoying problem on every device where I have Windows 11 installed.
Why do they have to ruin things that work, but they won't fix things that don't work ...
