Something that has been bugging me since I've had this machine is how, after being shutdown and turned on again, when I log in the desktop loads instantly and I can even hear notifications (i.e. WhatsApp) going off BEFORE I've even logged in.
This makes no sense to me as I haven't even logged in yet and this is after a shutdown.
I've disabled fast start-up as I assumed this would be what's causing it, but it's not.
When I check CPU tab in task manager, my uptime is as expected (a minute or so, as I've just turned on the machine).
Now in contrast, sometimes when I turn off my machine, it actually takes time to load after I enter my credentials, which is expected. The difference in behaviour screams fast start-up, but unless in Win11 it's actually enabled even if unchecked, then it's not active so, what I'm trying to understand is why this is happening, and how I can make my shutdown button, actually fully shut down so that when I turn it on again, everything has to load as normal.
Obviously caching of some sort is going on, but I don't where and how to control it.
Any ideas?
PS - this didn't just start happening recently, it's always been an inconsistent, present issue for the whole 3 or so years I've run Win11 on this machine. Also, aware of shutdown -[r|s] /t 0 command to force full shutdowns.
