Solved Win11 Task App Icon Disappears When Pinned...

Hi,
I've got a well-running Win11 desktop machine. I needed to update my Foobar2000 app to the newest version, and when done, the Foobar app icon in the taskbar displays a default "document" icon when I start up the app. If I pin it, and then unpin it, the Foobar icon appears in the taskbar while the app is running. With the app still running, if I pin it again (what I'd like to have!) the icon reverts back to the default, blank doc icon. Or, if I close Foobar, the icon also goes to blank/default.

I've tried restarting, uninstalling Foobar, reinstalling the app, dumping the iconcache db, ran SFC and DISM, even editing the registry - nothing will make this work.

Any other ideas?

I'm not sure why this is happening but one option to fix it could be this:

Right click on foobar icon on the taskbar (or rather, the document icon) and this will bring a new menu. You will see the program name at the top, and then Unpin from taskbar. Right click the program name, and choose properties. Under the Shortcut tab, choose "Change icon". Now you can choose a new icon, or find the Foobar icon.

What I have done is install foobar to try to find the icon inside of the program files, so that you can download and use it. I used a program called Icon viewer to do so, but I'm not sure if the icon will be the correct size. I have attached 32 x 32, so try that with the method above but ask me if you need a bigger icon.

Damn! Fixed!
I am familiar with this process, but I thought Foobar needed some resources embedded in the app, or maybe some registry voodoo, not an simple external .ico associated with the app. But it worked! Thanks for the .ico.
