@Wisewiz - Installed new free ver. CC closed Chrome > ccleaner <add urls & files> 'to keep' ran cc cleaner (which included chome history) > back to Chrome >
ctrl+H history many entries. Fail

Note while 3 machines all share internet connection, BleachBit would fail to remove "Edge" in order to work, I needed to to:

ctrl+alt+Del kill Microsoft Edge Temporary, then run Bleach Bit

If you want to clear your Chrome History on all synced devices, don't use CCleaner, use Chrome. Chrome > Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear Browsing Data > arrow on right > (check) Browsing History > (click) Clear Data.

CCleaner only works on files that are on the computer you are using when you open CCleaner. Synced files can only be deleted with the browser they are synced on.

What your CC trial did not take into consideration was:

Chromes cleaner says, 'sign out of google synch' then 'clear data'. CC worked, however Google synch replaced, files that CC deleted.

I believe post 1 mentioned synch & Chrome

In Chrome Settings, go to You and Google > Either Turn OFF for all syncing, or choose Sync and Google Services, and choose what NOT to sync. Then, if you wish, follow the instructions in post #2 above to delete your history. Chrome will not recreate it.

@Wisewiz - I did not ask for that info! I related it to you as to why your first reply failed. The failure was you were not considering synched computers when mentioned.

This is not widely talked about when 'trash' cleaning. It's not a quick 'intuitive realization that one must pause synching (if on) and then remove the trash. It's hard enough to get people on a scheduled garbage takeout day.

This is not a consideration by BB or CC as to incorporate, CC or BB would have to pause sync. restart synch, fill in passwords from those deleted cookies.
CC & BB won't touch that.

It's as stated Browsers will not be cleaned if it's synch is on, pause, clean, & fill in the missing

It seems I was not clear, about the goal:

This Win11 pro machine uses Chrome browser and is synched to two other machines via Google Synch.

To clean the browser, remove history cookies and the like; I must pause Google synch > then > run cleaner > then > re-enter passwords deleted during cleaning process.

I tried ccleaner o[tions > cookies > cookies to keep. > moved urls & files listed to the right 'to keep.

Then Open Chrome, pause synch, clear data

Then re-synch chrome

The saved urls saved in CC, I had to re-enter passwords.

Thank You
