The public release of 24H2 is expected around October. There is no hint yet of when the Beta channel may get 24H2.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

But 26100.268 is in Dev Channel.

Dev Channel:

24H2 (10.0.26100.268) (April 26, 2024)

Will i receive updates (Stable) when 24H2 released if i install 26100.268 now?

I got the current build outside the WIP. I have no interest in receiving Dev Channel builds beyond the current 26100 that was released in April.

Microsoft have not yet confirmed that 26100.1 has been signed off as the base build for 24H2, but all the rumours indicate that it is the case. Seems there was a 26100.2 build that was not delivered to any Insiders, but that may well be the RTM build delivered to OEMs for installing on their next machines. There have been no official announcements.

All the indications are that from now on 26100 will only be developed further by cumulative updates. If, as I suspect, the Beta channel gets a 26100 24H2 build soon then that near enough confirms that the release build of 24H2 will be a 26100.nnnn build. If so, then as soon as it is released to the public then 26100.268 will start getting the public CUs.

I agree with you. This seems to be the build Microsoft will release the final 24H2 on in the fall. We don't know yet what the ultimate build number will be.

I'll be wait for Beta 24H2 because i can Unroll. I have strange CPU Usage in Idle in (26100.268) but not in Stable (22631.3527).
