Fixes​

[General]​

  • Fixed an issue where the Windows Vista boot sound was unexpectedly being used instead of the Windows 11 boot sound.

[Desktop background]​

  • Did some underlying work to help address issues which could result in the desktop background unexpectedly becoming black rather than displaying the expected wallpaper image. If you continue experiencing issues, please don’t hesitate to report them in the Feedback Hub under Desktop Environment > Background and Wallpaper.

[Settings]​

  • Fixed an issue in the latest builds which could cause Settings to crash when interacting with the options under Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  • Fixed an underlying issue where some of the apostrophes across text in Settings and settings-related dialogs were not displaying correctly and were showing random characters.

It's not meant to be a production build. Who cares if there's a watermark -- If you don't want a watermark stick to the public 24H2 builds. These other builds are Preview ones intended for testing not for production daily use-- remember features on these might not be included at all in future public builds.

The original point of Canary was to to trail blaze new potentially exciting features that may or may not make the cut into release builds, accepting possible bugs.

The intent was we Insiders would strongly influence future developments e.g. feedback if feature is useful or useless etc.

All we get now is a few lame minor updates and just act as unpaid debuggers now.

MS have clearly decided that Insiders have no say over future developments.

I only upgrade Canary two or three times a year. I call it Canardly after the Rolls Royce because I Can'ardly be bother to update it that often.

New in Canary build 27913: the mouse pointer crosshair indicator feature is once again available to Insiders (out of box, no feature IDs needed). It's been just under a year and a half since the initial rollout in Insider builds stopped (26085).

It's NOT without meaning --if you don't want watermarks - "et al" (although I doubt whether at your level of educational attainment if you have any understanding of common Latin espressions - even those as common as "Ad Nauseam") then PLEASE DO NOT USE TESTING BUILDS !! -- I'm not nasty by nature but sometimes people just get so rediculous making bonkers comments on insider builds by trying to use them as "daily production builds" - which they aren't intended for. !!

Looking at these Insider builds just READ WHAT IS SAYS ON THE "GOD----ED" TIN PLEASE.

I agree with that 100%. My understanding was that what gets released to the Canary builds may or may not make it to the Release builds. Seems to me that it's just the opposite. What gets released to the Release builds may or may not make it to the Canary builds.

My Canary Build isn't my daily driver, but, I still don't want to look at the damn watermark! It's pointless!
