On laptop i have Dual Boot Windows 11 + Linux Mint. Will be GRUB Bootloader deleted when i update Windows 11 to 24H2 Stable when it came out?

"sudo update-grub" ?

I don't like Linux VM because no GPU Drivers only virtual. I have only Windows VM for testing.

@Slo_2024

Actually not true if you have multiple video outputs / more than one gpu card.

If you have Linux running as the HOST system with KVM/QEMU for virtual machines -- set in the computers hardware Bios IOMMAX and then you can "pass thru" graphics or other device directly to the VM so it uses native drivers not the usual generic "paravirtualized" drivers.

For instance if I'm in a place which only has Wifi and I want to run a Windows VM -- you can't currently on KVM use a wifi device for "Bridging" the network card -- (I don't like NAT as it bonkers up communication between Host and Guest) I can pass directly a usb Wifi device to the guest which installs fine even if there's no Linux driver for the device.

I delete Linux Mint on laptop because PC is better for GPU Passthrough and Linux and i can use my RTX 4080 on 32" monitor. Now i have only installed Windows 11 on laptop.

I'll be wait for Windows 11 24H2 Stable and create Windows Backup (Image). Then i will install Ubuntu 24.10 (clean install, wipe Windows Partition). I will have Windows 11 and Ubuntu Backup. I don't like Dual Boot on my PC or laptop. I don't like Linux in VM too only Windows 11.

GPU Passthrough in Linux is not worth it because 16 GB instead 32 GB RAM, less CPU Cores, no CPU temperature, CPU Power etc. because it's VM.

I can have secondary Windows 11 in .VHDX. Way better then GPU Passthrough.

I have VM only for testing. For gaming only native OS (Windows 11 or Ubuntu).

I don't know for that modern Windows/Linux versions, but from my past experience with Windows 7 and Linux, yes upgrading Windows might replace the Grub bootloader. In this case you should be able to boot to Windows 11 but not Linux. You can either use EasyBCD utility (or EasyUEFI for UEFI mode installation) to add the Linux boot entry on Windows bootloader, or you can boot with a Linux live USB and reinstall the Grub bootloader from the Terminal. I don't know details, just Google to find the appropriate command.
