The app or file default icons must be able to be easily altered in case some look disgusting, thematically wrong or annoying.

It's now 20+ years since windows xp yet not one person in Microsoft thought about this when there are hundreds of bad icons.

It's easy enough for NON metro / store apps.
In properties just select change icon and then browse to a .dll file or other program or file containing your icon.
For Metro UI (or store apps) not sure though.

People like you deliberately misinterpreting topics don't help.

Talking about defaults, such as the chrome app icon all over the files...you can't change the default chrome app icon, so it looks HUGE against other smaller icons with content preview such as pictures, you don't need ugly icons set to view as extra large.. The Microsoft To do app looks terrible. A square ugly looking tick. You can't change it.

I do not want to see these massive icons amongst pictures in mixed folders............ and many icons look TRASH by comparison to this one. I've seen chrome icons and notepad icons like this.

Hi there

@spr_pseudo

You don't have to be so offensive.

Who on these forums deliberately mis-interprets stuff?

Most here spend a lot of their own free time trying to help others -- OK sometimes people get it wrong -- we aren't all MENSA members -- then just point out -- you've made an error or the answer doesn't work etc etc -- but to say deliberately mis-interepreted topics is just a total load of mega horse shyte.

Well I hope in person you have better social skills that you obviously lack judging by your response on the Internet--seems those with the smallest number of posts are the worst offenders these days -- your original post was not very clear in the first place.

I don't usually bother with this sort of vitriol but I just get the feeling you are one of the worst offenders on this stuff.

I'd hate to be in your team if I had to work in an office.

Cheers

I think some apologies are in order, maybe if you didnt write in 'rant' you'd have been interpreted differently. Personally i have changed the default Chrome Icon on the app and on related files. I think i'll keep that info to myself in this case.
