If you would understand how libraries work, long loading time has nothing or little to do with the file size. A couple of KB lib or service can take a long time to load, while a huge lib can be fairly quick to load. It all depends of its function/purpose.

Those tools does not see every configuration problem or application issue. It is a great start though. Only way to figure this out reliably is to debug and profile the whole stack that gets loaded when you open your text file.

@ypaul123 Thanks for filling in your system details.

Your issue may be related to OpenShell and/or ExplorerPatcher. Both modify Windows default UI behaviour and your issue seems to be related to that.

Experience wise, this are some of the most useless (99.99% of the time) - Windows troubleshooting features. Even with some rare Windows component store (WinSxS) corruption - the system usually runs just fine. Yet, you can find 0 issues - with those commands, on a broken Windows - to the point where it's unusable.

Only feature with a very high chance of solving Windows issues is an in-place Upgrade

Solved it!! Some autoclean RAM function behaved in a strange manner. There was no need for that function because I have plenty of RAM; 32Gb..... Only when I ran multiple VM's at one time it consumes some 25Gb. Turned that option off. Gone.... Rebooted multiple times to check.
