Hello

Windows installer module is creating a restore point every day
I usually do a manual restore point every 2 weeks, but after the clean install of Windows 11 I have noticed this situation and I don't know how to fix it.
Any idea about how to stop it?

In other words, in 7 days I have 7 new restore points in addition to the manuals I do every 15 days. On windows 10 it only created restore points on cumulative updates or soo...
These daily restore points are normal?

The Windows Modules Installer Worker checks for new updates from the Windows server and installs them on your computer system. So this process may create a system restore point before installing Windows Updates. I'm not sure system restore points created every day, you should check all restore points to find out what process create them.

All the daily restore points (all about 17.00) says in description : "Windows Installer module".
Any idea about what should i do do stop it?

I found a fix for the issue:


"If you're running Windows 10 Pro, you can modify the Group Policy settings to create restore points every day automatically or stop them.

  1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
  2. Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
  3. Browse the following path:
    Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender > Scan
  4. On the right side, double-click the Create a system restore point policy
  5. Select the Enabled option (or disable)
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK."
Thats it!!!
