Solved Windows Spotlight failing

Let me start by noting that this is a minor annoyance.

Yesterday, the Windows Spotlight images were absent from PC #2. They were present on PC#1 through earlier today, but they're gone now. (The folder where the images are stored is now basically empty.)

I went through a variety of troubleshooting steps on #2 last night, based on some Copilot suggestions (some of which were bogus, as usual) and some ideas from Web searches. Is it a bug, or something screwy with the Spotlight service?

I hoped for confirmation as to whether this was a local issue, or whether something is going on with the Spotlight servers.

No Spotlight images have been downloaded yet. I guess I'll see what happens over a day or two.

If it doesn't, the tragedy will be bearable. ;-)

Seems odd that it quit on two machines. Not sync'd, but on the same MS account.

In my neck of the woods in Canada I notice Spotlight Images never change on the weekend and if lucky change once a day on weekdays, It is also possible Microsoft is devoting less time and resources to maintain Windows Spotlight than when it was a new feature.

    2 x OREI 4K 4x2 HDMI Matrix Switch With ARC Audio Extraction, HDR & Downscaling (UHD-402D) so I can send the output of my Cable Box, Roku, or any of my 4 computers to either of my TV's separately or simultaneously.
My issue may be different from yours. I spent countless hours searching, running scripts, making registry changes, new profiles and could not get Spotlight working. The picture would never change and the "Learn about this picture" on the top right corner of the screen would not appear. Spotlight for the lock screen was fine.

I finally gave up and installed the Dynamic Theme app from the Windows Store. It does everything perfectly and the photos are beautiful.
