Windows users quietly receiving Microsoft Bing Service 2.0 update that won't uninstall

On various forums online (1, 2, 3), Windows users are reporting of a new and mysterious update that is being pushed via Windows Update. Classified as a Quality Update, the new update is dubbed "Microsoft Bing Service 2.0". Users on both Windows 11 and Windows 10 are receiving it so it isn't exclusively meant for Windows 11 22H2 Insiders or something.​

If/when it appears on my computer, I'll see if Autoruns can dissuade it from existing. :)

Then we'll all be yelling at the top of our lungs "Brink!!!!"
It so ridiculous (and kind of sad really)that MS feels it necessary to force stuff on users without obvious recourse. Even sadder, the Joe Blow user doesn't know enough to question it. They accept whatever MS pushes at us and go on.

Yes, I see that it was installed on my machine on June 10th. But I don't see anything new running. But then, I haven't rebooted recently.

Oddly, I went to the "Program Files (x86) folder and didn't see a "BingSvc" folder. However, if I do a search on "BingScv", it finds the directory and the associated files. Why don't I see the folder normally?

I use Chrome for a browser and have an extension that automatically redirects Bing searches.

NO! Bill, sod off! I don't use bing and never will. Google that Gates!

Strange. I do not have that update applied nor is it in queue. I wonder if it makes a difference if one uses home or pro.

I don't see it on Windows 10 Home, with the latest updates. (19044.1741)

another thing about Bing in my browser (opera) search options it won't let me delete what I don't want, an option I have always had in the past

It's not on any of my latest updates, 11 Dev, Beta or 10 Pro

Tomorrow is patch Tuesday, so I guess we will find out then.
