Solved Wondering why the steam window won't stay put?

Preamble:
Hello all, I was recently made aware that the AMD CPU performance issues were fixed and now Windows 11 has slightly better average fps and 1% lows than Windows 10 and finally decided to make the jump. I am actually enjoying 11 much more than I thought I would, after doing the registry tweak for the context menu, and things are generally running smoothly while one thing is really bothering me.

Question:
In Windows 10 I would just hit win + right arrow to pop the steam window onto the right half of my monitor and it would stay there pretty much forever unless I did something to it or the resolution changed which was a rare occurrence. On Windows 11 I do that command and it pops it over just fine but after closing the window and clicking on the shortcut I have pinned on my task bar to bring it back up it pops up correctly to the right side of the monitor but then it moves centred it on the screen. If I size the window and place it myself it stays there but if I use the auto move function something triggers and centres it. Obviously this is some sort of function in Windows 11 triggering and I can't figure out how to make it not do that. Sure, I can just do it manually and it stays but I would much rather use the command to do it and have it just stay there so that has led me here to ask about it. So, how do I solve this problem?

Have you tried the Snap feature?

Applications can have the function of auto sizing & centering of the window.

The Steam App seems to do this with it's almost daily updates.

How that relates to the snap to functionality of Windows 10/11 I don't know.
Settings > System > Multi-tasking

Yes, dragging the window to the side has the exact same behaviour as isn't that the same thing as does the command?

The thing is that it has nothing to do with when the Steam client updates and has everything to do with how I resize the window. If I use the windows command or drag the window to the side it'll centre itself after I close the window and open it back up again but it will stay in place if I manually move and size it to the side.

When I resize the Steam app I choose the Small mode:


Once the small mode has been activated, I can then drag the app across the screen to where I want it to be.



When I close the steam app and recall it, it will be in the same place where I left it.

But, if you shut down the PC then, activate steam, it might not be in the small mode
anymore.

I did not say it had anything to do with Steam updates.

Just merely an observation that this was seen after the updates.

Ah, sorry I didn't properly comprehend what you were saying. Do you know of any way to control this behaviour or is it a that's how it works and tough luck kind of thing? It's just super annoying that what used to be a quick command is now forced to be manual. When I use DLDSR I used to just hit win + right when I was out of the game as it resizes steam and I never really thought about it. Now that I can't just hit that command and I have to manually put it where I want it and resize it myself it is just annoying and seems like something I should be able to have control over.

Ok, I just figured out what was going on after doing a fresh install of Windows 11. I just hated the feeling not knowing if something wasn't going right because I upgraded or because Windows 11 isn't as stable as 10. It was the first time I have ever upgraded as I have had an always fresh install policy. Anyways, after reinstalling I noticed that Steam would keep going back to a small window in the middle of the screen which was the default positioning when you first install it. So, I moved the window over with win + right and then instead of hitting the x I quit out of steam fully while the window was still up and upon opening it now it stays where I put it. So, I know Windows 11 has better window management with multi-monitors so there is a system of saving the window position of an application when you quit it so it can come back up when you have dual monitors up and this behaviour clearly also works in single monitor mode. Nice have figured it out.
