WSCC (Windows System Control Center)

WSCC allows you to install, update, execute and organize the utilities from various system utility suites. WSCC can install and update the supported utilities automatically. Alternatively, WSCC can use the http protocol to download and run the programs. The portable edition doesn't require installation and can be run directly from a USB drive.

WSCC supports the following major utility suites:

  • Sysinternals Suite
  • NirSoft Utilities

Version History:

4.0.7.3 (June 21, 2021)
  • [FIXED] multi-monitor fixes
4.0.7.2 (May 17, 2021)
  • [NEW] new keyboard shortcuts
  • [FIXED] minor fixes and improvements
4.0.7.1 (March 26, 2021)
  • [FIXED] minor fixes

Full history at WSCC - History

Free for personal use.

I use this pretty regularly, as it has every NirSoft utility and every SysInternals utility readily available. It's also started to include some other utilities, as well, like MiTec utilities, Everything, all the various PuTTy apps, GRC's DNS Benchmark utility, Sumatra PDF, GRC's InSpectre, and even links to Windows System utilities.

It has both fully portable and installable versions, and while it does say you haven't registered in the about screen, there are no other nags, and it is fully usable and updatable. If you download the portable version, the updater updates you with the portable version, as well, so directly updatable from inside the software.

Kind of clunky to use, but it is better than plowing through t he Sysinternals pages to find updates!

Yeah, it could be smoother - but the sheer availability of apps on demand makes me overlook its clunkiness. Especially with it being portable. I'm all about portable apps I can dump in a folder and not have to worry about installing after a clean OS install, all settings and everything are already there and ready to use after install.

Without having to use a USB Device, either.

Have a question, the first time when one runs it, it will show a list of things to install but some of the downloads will fail, is there a way to bring up that list again to try to download what failed before?

Update:
It appears one can get that to come up again by doing using the following keys:
<ALT>+U - Shows the Update Manager
Lots of things are mentioned in the included wscc.readme.txt

I use WSCC under PortableApps platform. It's not at PortableApps.com. I added it to mine.
I noticed not all of Nirsoft apps are included in WSCC and was wondering how to add individual apps.
I added one to the Nirsoft folder however it does not show up.
Are there any apps which are not allowed to be added?

Does wscc log it's results anywhere when run as a scheduled task with updatesapps flag? I'd like to know what was done.

Hmm, I've never thought to look.

Just looked , and while it is not obvious in Settings if it does or not, I bet they would be willing to add the function since they have the ability to schedule the update task.

One small work around might be to save the downloaded updates, but that would not help with things like which running apps were closed, etc. - only tell you what was downloaded and updated.

I'd send them a RFF for that to be added to the scheduled updates function.

I downloaded and extracted the portable version. When I run the update manager I receive a message "Cannot check for updates". I don't have the app blocked via a firewall or anything. I can bring the program up and go to the website via the about button. Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts?

Have not seen that before, I know Windows Defender will block a few of the utils from installing until you clear it. Should visit WSCC - Windows System Control Center - Technical Support and choose one of the support options probably.

I don't think you can add what wasn't included as they control the included software list.

Just installed/updated WSCC x64 portable 10.0.0.3. When I run the update manager, several of the NIR apps (like "AdapterWatch", for example) show a status of "blocked". What does that mean? It does seem that it's old (the app) and not supported on Win11, but why not say so? It didn't show up on WSCC v7.

Some NIR .exe are quite powerful and are deemed hazardous to use.
Others require certain permissions to run correctly. (such as Location); Win11 is also more stringent.

You could always disable the very folder in Windows Security from being scanned.

It always did it. In v4, it was 30 things that Windows Defender will flag so you have to manually allow it before running the installer. With v7, it was down to about 4 or so. With the new 10.0.0.3, it only complained about volumouse.exe.

I missed the new 10.x builds - even though I've been checking for updates on my own portable installation a few times a week. The button (to check for wscc updates) stopped working the way it used to before, and I assumed they had simply changed the way it worked lol.

Gabbing the new 10.x now. Thanks @Almighty1 for posting, who knows how long it would be before I realized the new major version was out....

I just periodically check on the website manually which can be weeks to month as the way I do it is I extract the portable to a folder named after the version like wscc_x64 v10.0.0.3 for example but the 10.x seems to be a .exe that allows either installing or extracting to a folder for a portable unlike the v7 and earlier versions. I know they pulled the v7.1.0.0 from the site for whatever reason after it was released when I checked in August 2024 and later and then I even checked a few weeks ago but it was still on v7.x but the 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2 and even 10.0.0.3 was not shown until I checked a few days ago when I posted about it above.

I'll begin by saying that I am a novice when using WSCC, which I just installed. The NirSoft Utilites run fine. When I try using the Sysinternals Suite, I get the EULA agreement that must be accepted before using. My dumb problem is that I don't know how to accept the EULA agreement. It says that I have to "accepteula", but I don't know how to do that. Can someone give me easy steps to accept the EULA so I can use the suite?
